Bridge/Span/Slab Load Test

The testing procedure is as per code IRC-SP:51-2015. The Road/Rail Over Bridge is load tested in order to verify that its behavior confirms with the design intents, when subjected to the combination of design values of permanent loads and design live loads.

Process:

Dial Gauges/LVDT are fixed at a place and deflection is measured prior to loading for 24 hrs.  At regular an hour interval for compensating for temperature correction. Next loading is started and simultaneously deflection is measured. An increment of 50 percent is applied and next increments are increased after the stabilization of deflection ,generally after maintaining each increment for 1hrs. Last increment of 100 percent loading is maintened for 24hours and displacement shall be measured at an interval of one hour. After the completion of loading cycle including maintaining full load for 24hours ,uploading will be started by removing load in the same sequence as was been loaded. Then the readings are measured.
