Rebound Hammer Test
Rebound hammer test is a non –destructive testing method of concrete which provides a convenient and rapid indication of the comprehensive strength of the concrete. The objective of rebound hammer test is to determine the comprehensive strength of the concrete by relating the rebound index and the comprehensive strength.
Process
The plunger of the rebound hammer is pessed against the surface of the concrete ,the spring controlled mass rebounds and the extent of such rebound depends upon the surface hardness of concrete.
Factors influencing rebound hammer test
Tupe of Cement.
Type of aggregate.
Surface condition and moisture content.
Curing and age of concrete.
Carbonation of concrete.
Test positions.
Strength Correlations.
